God Story 001

So… I’m starting a new series here called “God Stories.” Think of it as my way of sharing the crazy, surprising, and wonderful ways God showed up in our lives.

I got married three months ago. My husband and I honestly saw God’s hand everywhere—from how the proposal came together to the tiniest details of the wedding prep. There are so many stories I could tell, but here’s one that still makes me smile every time I think about it.

When we were venue-hunting in Chennai, I had one very specific dream: a wedding by the beach with a lawn. Basically, I wanted to see the waves without sinking into the sand. Sounds picky, right? But somehow, we actually found a place that was exactly what I wanted.I was over the moon once it was booked.

Fast forward to two months before the wedding.I visited the venue with my décor team around 4:30 p.m.—the same time we planned to hold the ceremony. And guess what? Instead of the soothing sound of waves, I was hit with blaring music and roller coaster screams. Surprise! The venue’s next-door neighbor was an amusement park, and during school holidays, it was loud. When we booked the venue, there was no such noise. Later, I realized it was during school exam months when children weren’t around, but now, being vacation time, the place was packed with kids and the noise was overwhelming.

My heart sank. We had already paid in full, and there was no backup plan. Everyone else brushed it off lightly because none of them had actually heard it like I did. I was deeply troubled.

I prayed about it for many days. One day, while praying,

I felt God speak to me: The noise will be silenced. I have silenced many noises before, and these noises too will be silenced. It was hard for me to believe because I kept blaming myself for not checking properly before booking the place. Still, I held on to that word, which came about a month before the wedding, and I prayed over it every day.

Then, just two weeks before the big day, news broke: one of the rides in the amusement park malfunctioned, causing a bit of panic. Within days, the whole park was temporarily shut down—for about a month, which just happened to cover our wedding date.

Now, I won’t say God caused the malfunction, but I will definitely say He used it for me. And honestly, if not through the malfunction, He still would have had a hundred other ways to silence the noise

.

On the day itself, the lawn was calm, the waves were the only soundtrack, and everything went perfectly.

The “what if” noise never showed up. Honestly, I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried.

So yep—that’s one of our first official God Stories. A mix of panic, prayer, and a very unexpected solution. And the best part? There are plenty more God Stories, so stay tuned.
